On the asexuality content scale (1 = ‘By the way, I’m asexual’ and asexuality is never mentioned again, 10 = a story all about asexuality and little else) I would rate this story as a 4. The rest of the story is all right, I just don’t have much to say about it. What really got my attention in this story was the asexuality part of it. Obviously, the religion of the ‘faith full’ is fictional. In order to avoid spoilers, I have to be vague, so I will just say that there is a significant amount of violence in the story. There are awkward discussions of sex (the faith full are uncomfortable about talking about sex directly) but otherwise no sexual content. What Sexual and/or Violent Content Does This Story Have, If Any? Meanwhile, the god is waking up, and that is far more important than any frivolous concerns Ennaline may have about personal relationships. She is willing to do it to serve the god, but she fears, do to her coldness, she will not be a good wife. She knows that she will most likely be engaged to marry one (or both) of the Piedmont twins, who all the other girls wish they could marry. She knows that, unlike other girls her age, she is ‘cold’ – she has no interest in kissing or marrying boys. Somewhere in the middle of the United States (possibly the Midwest or Oklahoma or Texas), Ennaline, who is fourteen years old, has spent her whole life among the faith full and has dedicated her life to the god. This is part of my series of reviews of fiction published by Harmony Ink Press featuring asexual characters.

If you are looking for a sweet, lighthearted romance, you will love The Weather Girl. They added warmth and a bit of wisdom to the story and made me think of how much fuller our lives are when we have grandparents like them to enrich us. It was a bonus reading about the secondary characters, Summer’s grandparents. There were great characters with mild drama and an ending that was believable and heartwarming. It was what I’d expect from a clean, romance novel. From here we begin to see how both characters develop, and how ultimately love and respect for one another grows. Things are going pretty well for her until a newly hired beloved, ex-football quarterback is granted some of her precious weather reporting time which infuriates Summer. She loves everything about the weather and is an excellent, accurate meteorologist. A meteorologist, Summer Raines, a.k.a “The Weather Girl”, can feel when it’s going to rain. The heavens open up for them to give them a day to remember among all the adventure filled lives that they live.💛💛💛💛💛What a delightful, wholesome story. The best of the best part of this book? Their wedding. She has dreams and passion to go ahead and fulfill them. Summer Raines a.k.a The Weather Girl is one amazing and wonderful woman. Falling in love isn’t nearly as easy as predicting the weather. Together they go on to forge a life chasing storms when the storm of him getting her thirty seconds is what got the ball rolling. She’s stuck with a career that’s going nowhere and a man who delights in her refusal to be charmed. It takes the dislike, like and love of one strong and weird woman to figure out what matters. Travis Lockwood is in a vacuum where though he does know what he cannot do and what he does not want to do but has no idea what he wants to do with his life. At the same time her sense of loyalty is strong enough to think about the people she love before she goes ahead and makes any decision for herself. She’s stuck with a career that’s going nowhere and a man who delights in her refusal to be charmed. It’s enough to make her quit and become a storm-chaser like her parents. Summer is reduced to reporting from…football games. Sidelined back to Texas after an injury, the golden boy is trying to steal her precious on-air time. Too bad she couldn’t have foreseen the tumultuous arrival of Travis Lockwood, everybody’s favorite star NFL quarterback. That’s why the local weather girl’s so good at her job. Summer Raines knows when it’s going to rain. The red colour for the post is for the red umbrella that plays a significant role in the story.
