However, Agnes comes back after realising there are worse people in the world and she cares for Zoe so they begin again but Agnes is still adamant about having children.Īt this point Zoe gets Agnes to deliberately infect herself with a tapeworm parasite to simulate being pregnant but eating rotten met which was disgusting but Agnes does it because she wants to please Zoe and has a strong desire to be a mother. Agnes does kill the animal but she feels horrible about it and breaks off the contract with Zoe for a whole month. However, when Agnes mentions the fact she wants children and Zoe asks her to kill a small animal as a symbol of rebirth things start get dark. At first it is fairly innocent with Zoe asking Agnes to wear or not wear certain clothes to work and while this does get Agnes first it isn’t doing her any harm. However, they are also part of the kink community and eventually the pair enter into a Master/slave contract. The relationship between Zoe and Agnes begins fairly innocently as Agnes is selling a family heirloom in order to pay her rent and Zoe is going to buy it but after learning of its sentimental value to Agnes and her reason for selling it she gives Agnes $1000 dollars not to sell it starting a friendship between the women.įrom here there is some flirting that happens between the pair and after Zoe breaks things off with her current partner they begin getting more heated together. The whole book consists of internet correspondence between two women, Zoe Cross and Agnes Petrella and we are aware from a comment about a redacted email address that something happens involving Zoe as she is part of a criminal case and I was wondering what it could be. I originally picked this up because it was recommended to fans of Tender is the Flesh which has been on my TBR for a while but the cover design finally made me pick it up as I have been craving darker books lately and it’s only just over 100 pages long. Title: Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca

Things have gotten worse since we last spoke paperback

Outnumbered, outmaneuvered, and outgunned, Jack, Ethan, Sergey, and the rest of the team struggle to put a stop to Madigan and his army. They piece together a desperate plan, hunting Madigan to the ends of the earth and the bitter frigidity of the Arctic, where Madigan’s world-shattering doomsday plan comes together. Reunited, Jack, Ethan, and deposed Russian president Sergey Puchkov, along with President Elizabeth Wall-the only person left in Washington DC who Jack trusts-must work together. While the world believes Jack was killed in the bombing, he embarks on a wild infiltration mission, smuggling himself into occupied Russia to rescue the love of his life: former Secret Service Agent and First Gentleman Ethan Reichenbach. President Jack Spiers fled Washington DC on the heels of a devastating attack on CIA headquarters, masterminded by one of America’s own, former General Porter Madigan. When everything falls apart, who do you trust? It’s pointless to even imagine we could be something together.A traitorous general, intent on burning the world to the ground. Of course, a guy like Landon could never fall for someone like me. What would he think if he knew I craved his best friend’s dad? I’m playing with fire, but I can’t turn off these feelings Landon has unlocked inside of me. Falling for him puts each fragile moment I’ve rebuilt with my son at risk. Landon draws me in without even trying, and the harder I fight this, the deeper I fall.Ĭrushing on my son’s best friend’s father must be my biggest parenting failure ever, but I can’t get enough of Landon. I’ve never been attracted to men in my life… until him. My son is opening up, too, little by little. Now I’m spending all my free time with the team-and with Landon-and the more we’re together, the deeper our friendship grows. Volunteering might give him and me a chance to rebuild what’s broken between us. And though I know nothing about football, Landon convinces me to volunteer to be closer to my son. Landon’s son and mine are best friends and-of course-Landon is the football Team Dad. He’s barely speaking to me, and a year after my wife died, we’re both clinging to the wreckage of our family. I’m not cool, or confident, and my relationship with my son couldn’t be worse. He’s such a Super Dad, it’s almost sickening. He and his son-the high school’s all-star quarterback-have the perfect father-son relationship. Landon Larsen is the envy of all the dads in Last Waters, Texas.
